1. Turn on the Player. 2.Press the Open/Close button. 3.Press the Clear button. 4.Press 1,3,6,9. 5.Press the Region you want, 0 for Region free. 6. Turn off and on your player. Keeps being region free forever. Don't know if it also removes macrovision.

Yes, I can confirm uspino's Region Code Hack! Power On Press Open/Close button Press Clear button Press 1,3,6,9 (waited a second or two) Then Pressed 0 for Region Free Turned Power Off, then Power On It took me a couple of tries, but it did work. I believe the tray was closed, and I had a Region 2 disc in it. Before the hack, my R-2 DVD displayed "wrong region" on screen. When entering the hack codes, no numbers displayed on screen. After a couple attempts (tiny buttons too close), the R-2 DVD started playing after I Power On. I had the unit unplugged for 24 hours, and the hack looks to be permanent. Tested & played: JAPAN (NTSC) Region-2 Skid Row:No Frills DVD Tested & played: UK (PAL) Region-2 Scorpions:Acoustica DVD I wish I knew this unit did PAL, I would have tried All-Region PAL DVD before the hack! Macrovision is still present. It is NOT VCR friendly, nor DVD-Recorder friendly (Panasonic E30). This formerly Region 1 only player was also packaged as "E Gear at Target" (stores) and was neat because it stood Vertically. Good Luck! mikey man
