Marantz originally shipped the DV-8400 with the DVI connector disabled (for legal reasons). This hack will enable the DVI connector: 1. Make sure there is NO DISC in the tray! 2. Turn the unit off with the remote. 3. Turn the unit back on with the remote. 4. Enter the following code on the remote: 1 7 3 2 0 5 0 8 This hack works for models sold in Germany. I do not know for sure if it will also work for models shipped in other countries. | |||

The German hack also works on a Japanese source unit (region 2), so must be OK for most areas. | |||

This is more of a warning then a hack; The hack above does NOT work on the Norwegian (possibly scandinavian) dvdplayer (S2). | |||
