Manhattan DVD SL-1/3000/2000 DVD player Setting up for multi region or specific region playback. To put the machine into multi region set up, press the following buttons: OPEN – SETUP – 9 – 3 – 0 – 1 – 0 – STEP – SHUFFLE – NEXT This will open up the machine for ALL regions. NOTE, there is NO confirmation displayed after inputting the code. If using a new Warner disc such as “The Patriot” which features REGIONAL CODING ENHANCEMENT (so far implemented in Region 1 [USA] only), you can still put the player into specific regions that match the disc (e.g. Region 1 for Region 1 disc). To do this, use the same code as above but replace the first digit (the 9) with the region code you want to put the player in to. The DVD format has eight regions and that is why nine has been assigned to multi region. For example: Multi region: OPEN – SETUP – 9 – 3 – 0 – 1 – 0 – STEP – SHUFFLE – NEXT Region 2: OPEN – SETUP – 2 – 3 – 0 – 1 – 0 – STEP – SHUFFLE – NEXT For most of the time once the Manhattan DVD2000 has been set to multi region then you should have no problems in playing back disc from around the world. VCD PLAYBACK WITH DISCS WITH “PBC” When playing VCD discs most VCDs have the ability of allowing you to view or jump to various sections on the disc via the “digest” button. To get the digest screen up onto the screen with the nine “chapters” showing once the title has finished playing press the following buttons: PBC – DIGEST – 3 In the middle of the screen you will see a small picture of the film for a few seconds, this will move to another part of the screen with a number in the top left corner of the picture. As that is moved, the next “chapter” on the disc replaces it. Again this will play for a few seconds, moved out of the way and replaced be the next “chapter”. Up to nine small screens can be displayed this way. All you need to do is press the number on the remote control for the “chapter” you want and the Manhattan DVD2000 will jump to that scene. Alternatively if you know the scene number you wish to view then just press the numbered button. Manhattan DVD2000 Macrovision Setting up for multi region or specific region playback. To put the machine into multi region set up, press the following buttons: Setup, Title, Step, Next. A menu should now be on screen with the word at the base YOU SHOULD NOT BE HERE. Using the down cursor button press until you go below the the Country setting. Macrovision should now appear. Press the right cursor button to highlight the OFF setting then press the select button followed bythe left cursor key to exit the Macrovision settings. Again press the down cursor key, then right cursor button. This shows the region settings for playing various DVDs. Using the down cursor button go down to BYPASS and press SELECT, then left cursor to exit regional settings. Lastly press SETUP to leave the setup menu. You should now be able to play all region discs plus copy DVDs to video recorders. | |||
