This machine is equivalent to: Philips MX3600D Philips MRD200xx I compiled the following instructions from those and some others. Thanks to all the contributers, my contribution here is just the compilation of all the information sources. Have fun, and yes, all the following worked with my system. Remember: if there is troube playing your PAL DVD on an NTSC TV or vice versa, go to the system menu and change the setting of your TV set, you got the choice between AUTO, PAL and NTSC. If you want a REGION FREE Magnavox MRD200, you should: 1) Press PLAY ON THE REMOTE 2) Wait until the little hand goes away 3) Press the numbers 159 023 793 90 on your remote each time waiting for the hand to go away before you enter the next number. 4) Press play on the remote The screen will turn blue and this is your confirmation that the setting is changed. You can play all region discs on your player. Also, I had to press PLAY on the remote and NOT on the player. As long as the little hand pops up, you are on the right track. Furthermore, keep in mind the following: You can convert your player region just entering this codes with your remote control: (be sure ther is no disk in the tray) For region 1: Play 159 111 002 08 Play For region 2: Play 159 221 002 08 Play For region 3: PLAY 159 331 002 08 PLAY For region 4: PLAY 159 431 002 08 PLAY After the "PLAY 159", the first digit is the region (1,2,3,4....), the second digit is the system (1-NTSC, 2-PAL, 3-AUTO) and the third digit must be 1. So you can change this codes if you need it. You can use this method to change the player region 25 times. After 25 times, itīs supposed the player will lock the region, but donīt worry, before you reach 25 times, you can enter the code: play 159 play and the counter will start again, so there is no real limit for changing the region.
