This hack worked perfectly as described. This appears to be a super player. It is dual NTSC/PAL and all region setting works perfectly. It also reads the anamophic squeeze on both PAL and NTSC discs, which many of these hackable players do not--I found that was the case in both Philips and some of the Cyberhome models. It also does one more thing easily that my other players struggled with--which was that it was able to shut off the Spanish Subtitles on the complete Twin Peaks collection--my Apex wouldn't do it at all and I had to fool the Philips through an elaborate procedure to get rid of them. I haven't tried the suggested macrovision hack on the 422 model, but you might want to check that out. All this for $34. Impressive. | |||
