This is actually for Magnasonic DVD800. What I was trying to do is to enable the VCD option on my DVD Magnasonic DVD800. It turns out that it's the same as on Oritron DVD100. (Thank you). Here are the instructions: 1. Put Audio CD 2. Press MENU 3. Press 1 4. Press 'Index MENU' 5. Press OPEN (tray) 6. A menu appears: 1-VCD enable 2-VCD disable Press 1 Worked with TDK's CD-R burned at speed x1 format: VCD2.0 I haven't tried to make it "region free", but I guess it's probably the same as Oritron. These are all the codes I discovered. I literally just keyed in all possible 3-number combinations (all 1000 of them) on the remote and noted the ones that had any effect. All codes are entered at the main menu. Codes are identical to some Koss and Oritron models, so pay attention to those for updates. 1-5-9 VCD enable, but Magnasonics come VCD enabled by default, so it's pretty useless. Only works if music CD is in the player. 1-6-7 Allows region selection, 1-6, entering zero may give region-free, but I didn't test this. 1-7-8 Allow selecting between 2-channel and 5.1 sound. 7-4-1 Dealer lock; allows the tray to be locked so that DVDs/CDs cannot be inserted/removed. 7-6-0 Displays firmware info and gives the option of firmware update. Also note, SVCDs made using the header trick will play in this player. Not sure about bitrate limits. | |||
