1) Download http://aiwaownersnetwork.tripod.com/pages/lg/lg5000.zip 2) Burn the folder 'RMTM0000' to a CD-R making sure that the directories stay in order. Use Nero Burning ROM or similar software, no multisession, finalize disk. DO NOT USE WINDOWS OR MAC OS INTERNAL CD BURNING UTILITY - IT WILL NOT WORK. 3) Insert the disk to your player, disk will be ejected shortly and menu will appear. 4) Select 0 for all regions and press PAUSE and then ENTER on remote to confirm. 5) You have multiregion theater. Enjoy. NOTE: This file is not firmware modification, it is just an utility that changes region of your DVD player, so theoretically nothing bad can happen. | |||

I TRIED TO UNLOCK MY EUROPEAN LG HT902 for 2 YEARS AND ***FINALLY*** FOUND A WORKING HACK!!! :) It´s actually from the later model LG HT903 right in here but the thing is it works for HT902 as well and I´m so pleased and greatful that I´ll pass it on to you other poor souls who tried in vain: Region code posted by stu1283, November 20 2008: The way I done it is: "No Disc" shown on the screen,(i.e. turn player on without a disc) type in on remote Pause 1472 A screen will come up with PROM SETTINGS Press up on remote til you reach 05 Xe, where X is a number eg 2e. Type 0, then hold 5 for a few secs then release, so it shows as 05 0e, press enter. Press up til you get to 07 xx, where xx is 02 on mine, and press pause. (On my european HT902 it´s not 02 but f8, but it worls just the same!) Turn system off, then on again. Your LG should now be region free. IMPORTANT: DO NOT adjust any other numbers, as this can cause damage to your system! The screen shown above is essentially the BIOS settings, so any changes are permenant unless you do the same routine. Not even the system reset will work! IF IN DOUBT, DO NOT TOUCH! WRITE DOWN THE NUMBERS BEFORE ADJUSTING IN CASE IT GOES WRONG! May also work on other players. This way is at your risk, and i will not be held liable if it does not work on your player! | |||
