A window will show "Region Edit: __ Region Code: 3" 5. Key "0" and press <Enter> 6. Region Code will now be free | |||

here are instructions specifically for FB166: 1. Turn on player without a DVD and turn on TV (DVD setting} 2. Wait till the Home Menu is displayed 3. Press Pause 4. Key 314159 5. The following will appear: Region Management Test Mode Current EEPROM_REGION_CODE [# your unit is set for] Press new region number (0-6) Press PAUSE Key to exit 6. Key 0 for all regions 7. Press Pause to exit 8. Turn off player 9. Region code will now be all (0-6) | |||

Hack for LG FB166. I purchased an LG LG FB166 160W DVD Micro HiFi System online in Spain on August 12, 2013. I searched the Internet and tried the hack I found on this site but it did not work for me. What I did has been previously published on this site for other DVD systems. This is how I got my LG FB166 to be Region Free: 1. Download the file LG5000.zip from http://alge.anart.no/~andersgo/dvd/ 2. Extract the folder 'RMTM0000' and burn it to a CD-R (make sure that the CD directory structure is preserved as "\RMTM0000\Scarlet\kpjc19_1.dvd" on a ISO9660 filesystem). 3. Run the CD-R in the LG FB166. 4. When the menu appears, select 0 for the DVD player to be reset to Region Free. 5. Press the PAUSE button on the remote control to save the new setting. 6. Your LG FB166 is Region Free now! | |||
