The procedure is the same as for FB162 posted by aydee, May 14 2008: 1. Press "On" on the unit 2. "No disc" will appear 3) Press "pause" on remote 4) Press "1472" 5) pressing "preset+" on remote five times go to the fifth group 6) edit the 5th number group in the code the first number is the region code eg. if the number is "12" then the region is set to 1 if the number is "42" then the region is set to 4 so if you want all regions set it to "02" by pressing 02 on the remote 7) when finished press "select/enter" 8) press "pause" again to exit from the menu 9) power off the unit and turn back on again. region 1 and 5 DVD tried al worked :-) | |||

To unlock the dvd region on the FB 163 I followed basile60's steps but found somewhat different info on the screen while doing it. Here are my steps which worked: 1. Press "On" on the unit 2. "No disc" will appear 3. Press "pause" on remote 4. Press "1472" 5. Press "preset+" on remote five times to go to the fifth group of 2-digit alpha-numbers 6. Edit this 5th number group Note: the first of the 2 digits is the region code. Eg, if the 2 digits are "12" then the region is set to 1. If the 2 digits are "42" then the region is set to 4. So if you want all regions (code zero), set it to "02" by pressing 02 on the remote. Originally the 5th set of digits were “b2”. I pressed “02” on the remote to change the region from 3 to all. 7. When finished press "select/enter" 8. Press "pause" again to exit from the menu 9. Power off the unit and turn back on again.
