Bought the the LG DV380H-N today in Canada (a model made after November 2008; earlier models appear to have had other hacks). It's also identified as DV392H-N. The second hack above, involving entering 000's, has no effect whatsoever. Of a dozen different LG hacks I've found online, the first one above, involving KPCJ-19_1.dvd, is the only one that works. The site mentioned above is in German: http://freenet-homepage.de/Targa/frieschalten_des_regionalcodes.htm I believe the same file can be found here: http://www.lgregionfree.mfbiz.com/#/instructions/4525089618 Then, as in the first hack above: 3. place file "kpjc19_1.dvd" in folder "SCARLET" (case sensitive) 4. Place folder "SCARLET" into folder "RMTM0000" 5. Write CD-R in ISO format 6. Run CD-R in DVD player 7. When menu appears, select '0' for region free code (it will ask you the 'new region' you are switching it to) 8. Press PAUSE to save As long as the CDR has the file set up right, it should be totally straightforward. There's an amazing amount of hacks that DON'T work posted online for this one, often with testimonials saying they do, so maybe this hack, too, won't work for everyone. It worked here, tho'!
