Subtitle Fix for LG 8XXX DVD/DivX-Series (LG DVX 8x51 UNOFFICIAL FIRMWARES by br0max) Update Instruction: 1. Find out the "Model ID" for your player. To do this, follow these steps with your remote control: - Press SETUP, highlight "TV Aspect", move the cursor over and highlight "16:9 widescreen" - Quickly press 1,3,9,7,1,3,9,ENTER - You should now see a blue screen titled "SYSTEM INFORMATION" - The top entry is the Model ID (something like LV8D3020B) Note: This procedure will reset the player to factory defaults. 2. Grab the firmware file you want to flash to your player --> http://www.geocities.com/lg8x51/index.html <--- and rename it to <model_ID>.mih where <model_ID> is the model designation reported from step 1 above. 3. Using your burning software, create a CD with the firmware file placed in the following directory path: \LG_DVD\FIRMWARE\UPGRADE\LG\ It doesn't matter what you name the CD as long as the firmware file is in the correct directory specified above. 4. Boot up the machine with no disc, insert the upgrade CD and follow the instructions. | |||
