I`ve just bought one of these DVD recorders ,I didnt find a hack for this model ,however by checking around and modifying instructions from other forums .This is what I achieved . Go into the Home Menu \ next go to manufacturers lock {in settings} but do not go across on the menu to enter the 4 figure code. Input {numeric} 0000000 then enter .The display on the tele will come up saying Congratulations . Finito !! I have checked with region 1 2 3 and 4 all work now . | |||

hi the thing with the 0 doesn't work on my LG389 But I found another hack solution: download http://aiwaownersnetwork.tripod.com/pages/lg/5000_series_firmware.html then burn it on a CD-R put the CD in the player and then a menue pops up and you can choose the region code. "0" is free. this works 100% - great | |||

1) Power On 2) Open Tray 3) Press Home 4) Enter "Set up" menu 5) Highlight the Lock Picture (Don't Enter Right hand Menu) 5) Press "0" seven times 6) You should now have a message on the screen saying "This player is now Region Free". | |||
