First press the Set-Up button on the remote. On screen, top left you'll see the firmware version. If you've got 1.1.4 you'll need the upgrade from the KiSS support site. Load that 1.1.6 upgrade onto a cd using Nero Express ONLY. Pop the disc in the 1100 and you'll see a short message. Power down the unit by removing the AC plug while the disc is still in the unit. Replace the AC, power up with remote if need be and you'll see the directions on screen. Do the full install. It'll let you know when it's done. Take the disc out, let the drawer go back in. Again power down the unit with the AC, plug back in, when you see the KiSS logo, open the drawer. Now press the CLEAR button followed by 276. Change the region code to ALL but don't muck with anything else. Exit out, close the drawer and one last time, power down the unit with the AC, plug back in and you should be OK. THis last power down/up is really necessary because otherwise, the picture pops in and out and changes contrast on the fly. Make sure all these power down/ups are done by unplugging the unit NOT just using the remote to place it on stand by. This all worked for me fine but only after a lot of playing around. |
