The hack listed on this page definitely works. Unfortunately, even though you see a MACROVISION selector in the hidden menu, selecting the "OFF" position has no effect. The exception is if you were lucky enough to have purchased a version with the alternate video chip, labeled as "AVS AV3169" (as opposed to "AVS AV3168") - in this case, Macrovision is already turned off from the factory (selecting "AUTO" in the hidden menu if you have this alternate chip may distort your picture, so leave the selector on "OFF"!) | |||

The hacks listed here DID NOT work for me. After a little more search, i found out some tips at: http://www.dvd-wizards.com/darrenk/Daewoo_DVG3000N/DVG-3000Npatch.htm They list 2 options to change the code. None of them work. They list a third option, a firware modification via CD. I followed the instructions, and it work perfectly !! The guy has a disclaimer (naturally) but i have to tell you, that this option worked for me. | |||

The method varies depending on the type of 3000N you have. If one method doesn't work, then try the other: ---METHOD #1--- 1. Make sure that there is no disc inside the player. 2. Push the following buttons on the remote control: SETUP Stop (*not* "Step") Track Back |<< Track Forward >>| This should reveal the "FACTORY CONTROL PAGE", Change the region setting as needed. If you have only Region 1 discs, it is recommended that you select "REGION 1". ---METHOD #2--- 1. Insert a disc. 2. I believe all region hacks for this player vary according to what production line/date you get it from. I bought my 3000N in december of 2001. When I got home, I literally tryied every region hack I found from searching on search engines. NONE of them worked! Being pissed off that I just bought a dvd player and none of the region hacks worked(this was my entire reason for buying a dvd player for the bedroom), I gave up and threw the remote on my bedroom floor. A few nights later, I was gonna watch some movies the g/f had rented, and decided to try them out on the new player. I turned on the dvd player and went into the living room to get the movie; when I came back I accidently steped on the remote and that magical screen came up to change the region code! After about 30mins of pushing buttons, I finally figured it out. With the player turned on and no cd, push(on the remote) "setup, <<, >>, |<<, >>|" I hope this helps those of you who have bought the 3000N and had the same problem as me. | |||

Mi aparato tiene fecha de fabricación enero 2003. Apliqué el método 1 que sugiere mensaje deciembre 22 2001. Pude pasar a Factory control. Pero aparece versión v26111170 cando el OSD está en inglés y v25212160 cuando está en español o francés. Sólo muestra versión y region ID. No aparece By pass.
