This also works on the newer 1089c model as well, although i was confused by the previous post as the only indication you get with this is once you do the code a "0" pops up in a blue box in the upper hand corner to let you know i used a R6 DVD and it played right off the bat also I tried it with a R5 and it also worked so this code does work. Also IDK about the B version but the C version has an HDMI port so you can also watch HD Divx/Xvid on this model. To clarify the above post for those of you like me that thought it didn't work. Have the tray open, press 9,9,9,9 (nothing will happen at this point) now Press 0 (region free, at this point if it worked a blue square on the upper right side of the screen will appear with the number "0" inside. For the Curtis 1098b, if 9999+region# does not work, try 8888 plus the region #. That's what I had to do today, with a brand new 1098b; plays region 2 PAL very nicely on NTSC television. | |||
