NO HACK NEEDED for region 2 ! I purchased this DVD player on Walmart's e-store (USA), and it plays region 1 AND 2 DVDs right out of the box! Not bad for just $20! I have not tried DVDs from any other region. | |||

I bought the player from Walmart.com also, but when I popped in a PAL R2 disc it said "Wrong region" I had to do the same hack as DVD1098 (9,9,9,9 then 0). I'm not sure though if it was actually 9,9,9,9 or if there were more presses, because the remote sucked and I had to do it a fair number of times before I saw "0" on the screen. | |||

I recently purchased this from Amazon. It did not play my region 2 at first. It took a few tries at the hack but it did finally start playing my UK DVDs. Turn on with remote. open tray with remote press 9,9,9,9,0 close tray The screen did not change and there was nothing to note the change. I just closed the tray and rather than getting a region error, it started playing. | |||
