This is for the Conia model M-100 DVD player sold by J&B Hi-Fi in Newcastle NSW Australia for $168 First go to:http://www.nerd-out.com/darrenk/Conia_M100/Conia_M100.htm and follow the instructions on how to make a standard CD in your computer for the DVD player. Put it in the DVD's tray and press close. Worked for me. Removed Macrovision copy protection and made it all regions. Can now transfer any DVD to VHS tape for owned DVDs back-up as is our right under Australian law. VHS tapes made this way are better than commercially recorded tapes and you can put the DVD safely away in the cupboard out of the kids' way.
Region code hack posted by Paul, July 27 2003:
I have used the hack posted on the nerd-out internet site (www.nerd-out.com) and found the instructions to be VERY clear and accurate. One reason I purchased the Conia (M-100) was being able to :- - Play DVD's from all regaions, - Remove Macrovision, - Remove RCE (Copy encryption). On purchase I found out the it was not 'out of the box' free of all these things; and I had to upgarde the firmware (following the procedure outlined above). The reason for this is that I have a DVD recorder (Panasonic DMR-E30) which would not copy the DVD's (just gave a message that you can not copy [due to Macrovision]. I am now able to 'make backup' of DVD's so the kids dont destroy the original (I have already lost a few) - of course you do loose the menu's; but the copy looks and sounds just as good as the original. |
