Thanks cdayle! Had a tough time at first pressing in the 1379 digits because pressing the digit on the remote control wouldn't show the * on the screen. I placed a region 3 dvd movie and tried to play it (movie didn't play), then took the disk out and left the lid open. Then, I keyed the 1379 digits using the remote and the * showed on the screen and waited for the **** to disappear. After pressing the digit 0, a message of about three or four lines quickly splashed the screen. It was so fast that I didn't have time to read the message. I put the region 3 dvd movie again and tried to play it again. It worked! The region 3 movie played! Thanks again cdayle. :) | |||

Got it. 1. turn the machine on. 2. Select the setup menu 3. press ff (>>) for about 3 seconds 4. Press fr (<<) 5. You should see a debug screen 6. Press zoom and you'll have a screen with a lot of info that means nothing to me but on the top left you'll see the region code select down to find your region or select until 255 (multiregion) I'm not a programmer or a technician but when the old way didn't work I figured I had nothing to loose and played with it until I found this fix. As of now I haven't had any negative consequences. Happy watching. | |||

Thank you Sittingfool. Your hack didn't work on my player but the Zoom step helped me to complete my hack. 1. Turn the machine on. On the remote 2. Press : Setup 3. Press : >>/ (next) 4. Press : /<< (previous) 5. Press : >> (fast forward) 6. Press : << (fast backward) You should see a debug screen 7. Press : Zoom You should see an another debug screen. On the top right you will see the region code. 8. With the down arrow on the remote select your region number or 255 for multiregion. Et voilà! | |||
