	Region hack for "Coby DVD R-1000": 1. Turn on the unit. 2. Make sure there is no DVD in the drawer. 3. Make sure the drawer is CLOSED. 4. If there is a menu on the screen, press "SETUP" on your remote to eixt it. You should only see "NO DISK" in top left corner. 5. Press "STOP" button on your remote TWO (2) times. 6. Press "SUB-T" (subtitles) button FIVE (5) times. 7. The line to enter region code number shows. 8. Enter "0" to "6" to select region code. NOTE: To make the DVD player region-free, enter "0" (ZERO) as the region code.

	Tried the above hack on a model I bought at frys on the 9th. the region set to 0 and loaded some region 2 disks. PAL playback worked fine. SOME region 2 dvd's (evolution, father ted) DID NOT PLAY. Tried cycling hack, verifying it, changing tv type (all 3), component and composite out, power cycle, reset, retry, set to actual region (2), different audio out, even parental control to uk. Nothing. Just a blank screen with title or title then root. Also waited a while to see if this was just an invisible warning. Summary: For me on a new machine this hack did not completely work.

	Did not work for me at first. Than I tryed it with the disc tray open. It worked as far as changing the region code but could not play some region 2 discs. Thank you.
