For coby DVD-515, DVD-707, and DVD-905 1) Open the dvd door and press "set up" on the remote control 2) press "8888" on the remote control 3) Press "Next" on the remote contrl and a menu item "Version" appears 4) Select "Version" press "Play" 5) Select Region "0" and press "Set Up" Only tested on the DVD-707 The store from which the unit was purchased (Video Delux) in Juarez Mexico provided the following instructions Programacion de DVD Coby DVD515, DVD707, DVD905 1.-Abra la puerta del DVD y presione "Set Up" en el control remoto 2.-Presione "8888" en el control remoto 3.-Presione "Next" en control remoto y aparece "Version" 4.-Escoger Region "0" Y presione "Set Up" y listo | |||

I can verify that the Region code hack works. Successfully played a Region 2 disk with it. Sometimes it works with the cover closed too. 1. open cover 2. press Setup 3. press 8888 4. press Next key >>| 5. a new menu item Version will appear 6. Go to that menu item and set the region 7. Press setup again to clear menu | |||

I recently purchased this dual-system (PAL/NTSC) portable DVD player, but it was only able to play Region 1 DVDs. I requested support from Coby, who provided the following region hack, which worked perfectly for me: 1. Power on the unit 2. Open the door. 3. Enter "98760" using remote, and "0" appears on upper left corner. 4. If don't see "0", then try again (input all the numbers as quickly as you can) 5. The screen will be turned off (it is normal). 6. Thanks Jet. I recently got my 707 replaced under warranty, and the new unit would not work with the 8888 hack any more. So I will try this latest hack. I figured a dual format portable player should have a region hack, because overseas travel is exactly why some people will want it. | |||
