I was able to get the DVD 207 hack code to work with a DVD 209 player yesterday, but the player was bought in 2003, so I don't know if the newer ones are changed.

DVD-209 ***NEW*** NOTE: Make sure you DO NOT have a disc in the tray while performing the region code procedure. 1. Open the DVD tray 2. Press STOP button on the remote control 3. Press 70 4. Press MENU 5. Use the numeric keypad to select your region code number (0 – 6). Zero is multiregion. OR 1) Open DVD Tray 2) Press “MENU” 3) Press 8888 (you will find the modification interface) 4) Press “OSD” 5) Enter YOUR desire region code number 0-6. 6) Insert your Movie Disc.

Make certain the DVD tray is open then just enter: 9735 and up comes the internal menu and one of the items on the menu is region code. Click on it and change (zero is best then any disk will play) While entering 9735 you may see "INVALID KEY" on the TV, just ignore it and keep typing. The machine this worked on was bought in Vegas November 2009.

I successfully followed the advice for the Coby DVD-209. Turn on the DVD player power (essentially...turn it on). Open the DVD door (this is a top loading unit). Using the remote control, type: 9735 A menu appears. Press the up arrow twice to reach the Region setting. The list of regions appeared on the right side. Mine was set at Region 1 by default. Push the right arrow to move to the Region list. Move the up or down arrow to move to the Region to which you desire to set your player. Region 0 is Region Free so it will play discs of any region. I set mine to Region 0, and now it plays discs of any region, and I verified this by successfully playing discs from several regions.

This last hack works perfectly. Tried the earlier ones, but they did NOT work on a unit bought at Fry's in Southern California, but the last one worked like the proverbial charm.

The second hack option posted by Tweak_info also works for Coby DVD-211 |
