It's as simple as this: The player is multi-region by default. Tested Region 1 (US) and 3 (HK), no problems. | |||

You do not need to hack for region free play. There is no region control circuit in the player, as Cambridge Audio simply did not put one in. Therefore, even a firmware update will not affect multiregion play | |||

VCD and SVCD The 540D azur dvd-player cannot play VCD or SVCD from the factory, but can be made to do so by this procedure: Turn the unit on Press Setup Once in the setup menu move the cursor over the speaker set up menu Press Angle on the remote Switch the Support mode from OFF to ON Press Setup again Turn the player off and then on again The 540D will now play VCD and some SVCD´s Region solution: The 540D is region-free from the factory- no further setting or modification is needed | |||
