If you want to use your DVD in a country on Asia-Pacific Region, you may find the needed firmware file on the BenQ US official website (the link is http://support.benq.com/front/BenqMain.asp?MenuHe ... undefined) and the name of the file is "DE350_APAC_016CH_CS_0929.upd". If you want to use it in Europe, you may find the firmware file on the BenQ Europe official website (http://www.benq-eu.com/serviceandsupport/downloads/downloads.cfm?product=795) and the name of the file is "de350_eu_021ch_cs_20050929.upd". You have to burn the respective file on a CD, insert it on the DVD Recorder, and follow the instructions on the screen. Also, on these pages you may find the install instructions. BE AWARE - THE PROCESS IS IRREVERSIBLE! FOR INSTANCE, IF YOU HAVE A US REGION CODED BENQ DE350 DVD RECORDER, ONCE YOU RUN THE "EUROPE"/"ASIA" FILE ON IT, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RESET THE DVD RECORDER TO THE INITIAL CONFIGURATION. HOWEVER, IF YOU HAVE THE ABOVE MENTIONED FILE, YOU WILL HAVE NO PROBLEM TO RE-INSTALL THE DESIRED UPGRADE. If you will find a firmware file for transforming this DVD Recorder into a US region DVD Recorder, please let me know (serbeszki@yahoo.com). | |||

First is to power up your recorder and press "INPUT" to switch the display to "Cam1" and press "OK", Next press "3 5 0 0" and press "OK", finally you would see the display to "000" and your player is now a multi-region player.. Think by pressing the 350 is the model number, pressing 0 is multi-region, pressing 1 is code 1, 3 is code 3 and so on.... It works for me! |
