Just power on the player, make sure no disc is inserted, and on the remote press : "0108x"
Without the quotes. Where x = region.
So 01081 is region 1, 01082 is region 2.
01080 is region free !

Hmm, just found out that the DVD-Tray needs to opened when you enter the code. So just power-on the player, open the tray and type '0108x' for your region choise.

Sorry 'bout that.

Hi people, it's me again. I just remembered how to display the bios version of the 8506F.

Just power on the player. Make sure the tray is empty and press 'PLAY' on the remote a couple of times.

Have Phun ;-)

Hi Again,

More news on the great Amoisonic 8506. It seems there are now 2 different version of this player (Atleast for the 8506F...) For the ones created/released AFTER October 2001, the 0108x code doesn't work anymore. But...... they just changed it to 0106x.

So if powering on your player, ejecting and typing 0108x (Where x=region) doesn't work, just try it with 0106x :-)

Good luck people.

Greetz,

For those of you using the Celera DVD8506B (which I believe is the Amiosonic 8506F with another brand and color) use the 0106x code (where x is the region). MAKE SURE the tray is open in order for this to work...

To check the BIOS version just remove any discs from the drive and press Play about 5 or 6 times.

It's basically the same instructions you use for the Amiosonic DVD8506F. i couldn't add this new DVD player to the list because I really can't find any site with a direct link to the Celera brand.
