Alba 114: 1. Press the Open/Close button on your remote control 2. Using your remote control, press the buttons 3, 3, 0, 8 and 8, in order one at a time 3. Press the 1 button on your remote control for region 1, 2 for region 2, and so on, or 0 for multi-region playback 4. Press the Open/Close button on your remote control Same as above. But my Alba114 was multi regional right out of the box. It played R1 DVD's right away without me touch anything. | |||

There is no need for any code..the ALBA 114 is already set up for multi region...I tried all the codes and now believe someone is having a laugh....All i had to do was swap the scart leads over behind the TV....The player only works if its through the R.G.B. scart socket. Worked for me!Now i have MASH on region 1 working fine with full colour and sound. Good luck fellas. | |||

Firmware from http://www.powerglitch.com/update.html removes MacroVision. Get combined STi5508/5519 version. My Alba is a 5519, this is one of the commonest devices. It's likely that all Vestel (Alba, Goodmans, Roadstar...) with the green/white screen split down 1/3 from left use the same board and same software. Device is clealy marked STi5519 OMEGA. Have bought 8 Alba 114 (for f/f) and so far installed on 4 machines w/o problems. Definitely removes MacroVision allowing playback via VCR (Video). Also AudioCD start up speed improves. | |||
