	1. Switch on the player 2; Pop open the CD compartment 3. Enter the following code (using the remote): 2812 4. Highlight the region 5. Change to 9 (for Multi-region) using the 'Enter' button 6. Hit 'Clear' to exit 7. Pop in a DVD and enjoy!

	You need a One4All universal remote control to be able to unlock this machine if you are in Region 1 or 3.

	Note that I purchased one of these and tried the winsamp method. The DVD player does not respond to commands via the IRDA port. I verified the IRDA port was working properly on another Sony DVD player I have which responds to commands from winsamp. This player does not use the same remote codes that other Sony DVD players use. So that casts some doubt on the OFA method too. I must use the supplied remote to get this unit to work. There are several places selling region free FX810's, so I'm eagerly awaiting some solution.

	Here's how to play other region DVDs on an R1 DVP-FX810: Problem description: The US DVP-FX810 is a stripped down version of the asian model. One of the features they apparently stripped is the backdoor hack for multi-region play. Other bits of nastiness are locked out remote controls - This player uses DVD3 remote codes and there is no known way to switch it to DVD1 to try the winsamp or OFA hack. When you attempt to play another region disc, this happens: Player displays "Load Disk" while the DVD spins up. After a few seconds the DVD player displays "Wrong Region." During a 1 second period before "Wrong Region" is displayed, there is an opening where the chapter select works. However, once the region error is displayed, the DVD player locks out all the controls aside from "Set Up" on the remote. 1. Load the disc (in my case an R2 Japanese release) 2. Power up the player and listed to it spin up 3. Hit 1-enter, 1-enter (or any chapter-enter) at a steady pace 4. DVD will skip to the appropriate chapter and begin playing 5. Wrong region then displays on the screen and controls all lock out 6. Hit "Set Up" on remote twice to clear the screen If it does not work, try steps 2-6 again. That's about it. It isn't perfect, since some DVDs insist on going to the main menu and the controls are long locked out by then. Quite a few others play happily the main feature on Chapter 1.

	I´ve tried the hack from "dsanchez" on my R1 player and it didn´t work for me. I tried many different R2 discs and many times on each one. I noticed that my player displayed a little bit different messages on the sreen, like instead of "Load disc" - "Loading". After a few seconds and after spin up I get the message "Check Disc" instead of "Wrong Region" Sometimes I managed to get the title/chapter display but only for a second and when I pressed "enter" I got the same "Check disc" message. 	FIRST C ONFIGURE YOUR PLAYER IN THE LANGUAGE YOU WANT TO LISTEN, AND THE SUBTITLES YOUR GOING TO USE BECAUSE ONCE YOUR DISC IS BEEN REPRODUCED NONE MENU IS GOING TO WORK. SECOND.- PUT YOUR DISC ON YOUR REGION YOUR GOIG TO USE AND, SET ON YOUR REGION AND INMEDIATLY AFTER TO CLOSE THE COMPARTIMENT START TO PUSH CONSTANTLY, (TOO MANY TIMES), THE NUMBER "6" - ENTER YOU HAVE YO PUSH IT 10 TO 15 TIMES , AND THEN YOU CAN SEE THE MOVIE WITH THE LANGUAJE AND SUTIBLES THAT YOU HAVE SELECTED BEFORE. ENJOY YOUR MOVIE. MAYBE FLIP UP A MESAGE LIKE " REGION INCORRETA" "WRONG REGIION", DONT WORRY, YOUR VIDEO IS GOING TO REPRODUCE HOWEVER. IF 6 - ENTER DOESNT WORK, TRY WITH 7 - ENTER A LOT OF TIMES (I MEAN CLICKING) OR 8 OR 9 OR 10, IT DEPENDS OF THE NUMBER OF CHAPTER THE MOVIE STARTS. ONCE YOU OFF YOUT REPRODUCTOR IT RESTARTED LIKE YOU NEVER DID THIS PROCEDE. YOU HAVE TO DO THIS IN EACH MOVIE YOU WANT TO PLAY.

	Hi, I've got DVP FX810 sony portable dvd.. Tried the dvd hack here but not working.. dvd says "check discs". It is made in china(SONY CORPORATION, TOKYO, JAPAN), uses SONY battery NP-FX110 battery.. Please Anybody help. !!!
