HI this hack is the same as for the S370, 360, and S550 and uses the "One For All Kameleon 6 " or URC-7950 remote 1. Press and hold the [Magic Hat] button until the rabbit appears (the IR indicator bars also flash twice) The Rabbit in the Magic Hat should be visible for all the following steps. Pausing too long will cause the Rabbit to dissappear. If it dissappears then repeat step 1 and also the block of instructions you were doing at the time. 2. Press [DEV SET] 3. Press [DVD] 4. Press 0533 5. Press [OK] - The IR indicator bars flash twice 6. Press [ESC] 7. Press [KEY MAGIC] 8. Press [DVD] 9. Press (but don't hold) the [Magic Hat] button 10. Press 00189 11. Press 1 (The IR indicator bars flash twice) 12. Press [KEY MAGIC] 13. Press [DVD] 14. Press (but don't hold) the [Magic Hat] button 15. Press 00255 16. Press 2 (The IR indicator bars flash twice) 17. Press [ESC] The remote is now programmed and ready to use, to make the BDP-S570 region free: 1. Use the remote that came with the player to bring the player out of standby, make sure there isn't a disc in it. It should read "HOME" on the front panel. 2. Press 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 on the oneforall remote. The blue 24p light will start flashing on the front panel 3. Put the player back into standby with the Sony remote 4. Next time you turn on the player it will be region free for DVD playback I used Kameleon 6, Works Fine and tested Region 1, 2, 3, and 4 DVD's | |||

Chums, None of the multi-region DVD hacks for S570 are working for me and I am fast losing hope I will ever watch my Aussie and US DVD's again :-( I have recently got a BDP-S570B (Region 2 / UK) uprevved with latest firmware and a One for All Kameleon URC-8305. So far cannot even get control of the player with the URC, let alone use it to make the player multi-region. There doesnt seem any agreement across the various hacks on what the IR device code is for this unit, though the multi-region hack seems consistent across this model and other Sony BD players. I read some other articles suggesting the URC-8305 did not work with this hack, though as its just sending IR codes that makes no sense to me. Can anyone cast any light on this, please ? | |||

Does anyone know of a hack for the Sony BDP-S570 bought in the US that plays Region 1 only? I have a region 1 player and need to make it be able to play a multi-region or at least a region 2 DVD. The hacks on this page seem to work on European Sony players not US players. | |||

Hi, bought remote control URC3920/3940 and with that the first needed code is 21516 (not 20533 like stated above). But then at the end when pressing 1,2,3,4,5: after the 5th, Sony is only blinking "see you" and it is not region free :-( What can be wrong...? | |||

HI just got my second Sony BDP S570B From Amazon for the bedroom, used the hack I listed at top Using the same URC 8026 Kamelon one for all and the hack worked 1st time IE before hack S570 would not play region 1, After hack now plays R1 R2 R3 R4 hope this helps confirm that this hack does work but it is difficult to programme handset correctly 1st time round, take your time get it right. | |||

Hello, I used the Kameleon URC8206. It seems there are about 6 different codes you have to try to get the remote to work with your Sony. The code that worked for me was: 1533. The other codes are: 0533, 1516, 0864, 1133, 1017. Good luck with this. | |||
