To change the DVD region (not BluRay region) of this player (this is for region 2): 1. Open disk tray without disk and close. Upper left part of screen will show "no disk". While that is showing press "return". (third button from left on bottom) 2. Immediately press 5 7 5 3 8 (or substitute for your regions code, see below) 3. Your current region code will appear top left of screen, Press 9 to change to region 9 (no region). Region change complete. Other regions, substitute number in step 2 with relevant code below. 1 – 2 9 3 3 4 2 – 5 7 5 3 8 3 – 5 6 7 3 2 4 – 7 6 8 8 4 5 – 5 3 8 1 4 6 – 2 4 4 6 2

Corrected version, merged from BD-C5300, since first one not worked. 1. Switch on. 2. Move cursor to the videos section (rather than Internet) 3. Open and close disk tray 4. When "No disk" appears, smoothly and consistently press REPEAT 5 7 5 3 8 REPEAT (REPEAT = third button from left on bottom) 5. It shows "2" in the top left. Press "9" for multi region 6. Switch off and back on again Other regions, substitute numbers in step 4 with relevant region code below: region 1 – 2 9 3 3 4 region 2 – 5 7 5 3 8 region 3 – 5 6 7 3 2 region 4 – 7 6 8 8 4 region 5 – 5 3 8 1 4 region 6 – 2 4 4 6 2 Tested for region 2.

All of the details in the above post are correct, except you must wait for the number to disappear from the screen before you press 9. I didn't realise this at first and accidently set the region to 5. Cue a slightly stressful few mins until I realised this! Player was bought on 3/9/12 with Firmware 1006 installed. Hack was applied and then player connected to network and updated to 1009.2. Player is still multi-region (tested with Kill Bill (R1), Revenge of the Sith (R2) )

Tried the hacks above on my UK Samsung E5300 - but it has been updated to 1009 firmware and despite trying 10+ times the hack doesn't seem to work - never saw a number flash up

this is for region 2 only! 2. turn on player 3. Press the eject button on your remote to open the tray. 4. Press the eject button on your remote to close the tray. 5. As soon as the "No Disk" message appears at the top left corner do the following immediately 6.press audio 57538 repeat 57538(not the repeat a-b) 7.pres 9 enjoy

Just tried the latest hack above with mixed success. Managed to change the region - first to 3 and then to 5. Am now a bit stressed as I can't seem to get it to change to 9 - I never saw 2 flash up - first number I saw was 3, then 5. Both only one time - which leads me to suspect that we don't actually need the second 57538 - can anyone confirm...so at this point 1 step forward and 2 steps back.

Tried for several days with no luck, for me (region 2) this worked: 1. turn on player 2. Press the eject button on your remote to open the tray. 3. Press the eject button on your remote to close the tray. 4. As soon as the "No Disk" message DISAPPEARS (!!!) at the top left corner do the following immediately 5.press "repeat" "57538" "repeat" 6.press 9 for region free

I did the same as above (MOSTLY, BUT MINOR DETAIL ADDED IN CAPS) for a player purchased in Norway: 1. turn on player 2. Press the eject button on your remote to open the tray. 3. Press the eject button on your remote to close the tray. 4. As soon as the "No Disk" message appears at the top left corner do the following immediately 5.press audio 57538 repeat 57538(not the repeat a-b) 6.pres 9 - AFTER THE 2 DISAPPEARS. THIS CHANGED MINE FROM REGION 2 TO REGION FREE.

Hi, I have recently purchased a Samsung BD-E5300 Blue-Ray player in the US (region 1) and would like to be able to play region 2 DVD's also. I have tried to apply the fixes from this site but nothing has worked. The last 2 rows of my remote control have the following keys: A - B - C - D Blank (says REPEAT above) - Blank (says AUDIO above) - Blank (says SUBTITLE above) - SCREEN (says FULL above) It seems as though I have the same issue as Julzito from September 28 2012. Can anybody help? Thanks, LostInBethesda

I have the Samsung HT-E6750W (Region 2) and was able to make it region free for DVD just as the comments above suggested. However, my player is still locked for BD. Is there a hack to make the BD region free for Blu-ray films?

i tried this on remote AK59-00146A and this did not work for Region 1 code if you are also trying this for region 1 did it work for anyone else and if it did what remote did you use and firmware. This is for REGION 4 PLAYERS but here's a list of codes for other regions: region 1 – 29334 region 2 – 38767 region 3 – 56732 region 4 – 76884 region 5 – 53814 region 6 – 24462 I got a remote that have a REPEAT Button on Right side below the PAUSE Button and on top of INFO Button and to the right of NETFLIX Button. This Button is not printed but on top of it between PAUSE and this Button is printed REPEAT. Step 1: turn On your Samsung BD-E5300 Step 2: After "No Disc" label Dissapear Press: REPEAT 76884 REPEAT (HOLD second REPEAT until Number of Region Shows in top left corner). NOTE: all sequence within 2.5 to 3 seconds. be consistent. If nothing happens repeat it again just there no need to open close tray or turn off and back on. Step 3: Press the number of the region You want or press 9 for region free. Step 4: Turn OFF and BACK ON and you are ready.

Just to confirm what others have said, After the disc tray closes and the "no disc" message comes up on the top left corner of the screen, press "repeat" and then type "58537". The current region number will be displayed on the top left corner - simply change the region as required. I don't actually remember pressing anything after this - I thin the change was saved automatically (not sure). I bought a BD-E5300 from Argos on the June 06, 2013 (difficult to find now they've been replaced by the BD- F3100. The "repeat" button is the third button from the left...on the very last line at the bottom of the remote (it's not the "repeat A B" button which is second to the left).

Hello all. I have a E5300 purchased in the US (Region 1) about 9 months ago and have tried several times to make the DVD player non- regional and have run into the same problems others have with the Region 1 model. Has anyone been able to solve this particular problem?

I had region 4, used region 4 number as before in the form REPEAT, number, then 9 for region free. It didn't work for me to press repeat for a second time. You have to press repeat then the number as fast as you can for it to work. I think it allows you 2-3 seconds. Good luck :)

I am from Australia (Region 4) with a Samsung BD-E5300XY. I followed a few instructions here (including 'DocInOz, October 12 2012'), but in vain. Finally, the hack from 'Carrie123, May 24 2015' worked. I could successfully change to 9 and can confirm that a certain DVD that I picked up from gumtree (Region 1) that would not play earlier, does work now. The trick is to be fast (I suppose) and there is no second REPEAT involved. Just: 1. Open Tray 2. Close Tray 3. When "No Disk" appears, quickly press REPEAT followed by 7 6 8 8 4 4. A "4" should be displayed on top left of the TV screen. Quickly press "9" now. The display should also show "9" at the same position (top left). Switch Off and On and play the DVD. Remember: Be fast but be precise and do not miss pressing any key. If "4" (or whatever region code you are at) does not appear in Step#4, then you have done something wrong... open and close the tray again and repeat the process. There is no point in pressing "9" if the "4" (or your region code) is not visible at the top left of the TV screen. In summary: OPEN TRAY >> CLOSE TRAY >> REPEAT >> 76884 >> 9. Important: 1: Be quick and start the process when "No Disk" is seen at top left. Important: 2: 76884 should be the code of your region. Region 1 – 29334 Region 2 – 38767 Region 3 – 56732 Region 4 – 76884 Region 5 – 53814 Region 6 – 24462 Important: 3: There is no point in pressing "9" if "4" (or whatever is your Region number) is not visible at the top left of your screen. Important: 4: There is no second REPEAT involved. Just press 9, ensure TV display shows 9 at top left. Then turn the player off and on again. |
