1- Power on the player 2- Be sure there is no disc in the tray 3- Wait for "NO DISC" display on the VFD 4- Enter "0086000" with the remote, then press "OK" You can check that the region is now 0 by entering "00009" and pressing the "OK" key. Original hack posted on http://www.club-dvd.net/

0009 (three zeros and a nine) and "ok" after seeing "no disk" will display the firmware version. My firmware is BT5 or BK5 (I forgot whether it's a T or K in the middle). Anyways I tried some other region coded DVDs (other than region1 - I live in Canada) on the 3355 and they played. I know these DVDs are coded other than one cause I tried them on my other DVD player which gave "wrong region." I tried them after I did the 0086000 hack. I'm not sure whether the hack worked or the player was already region free as my DVD player does not display its region code setting. When doing the hack....if you see a red circle with a diagonal bar at the right hand corner of the tv screen, you have to turn the dvd player off and on again and wait for the "no disk" display. Then key in the remote code again.
