I can confirm that the DVD hack for the Philips BDP8000 works in the BDP8000/78 model variant: - Turn on the player - Wait for the Home screen to display or press Home on the remote - Press 1389310 on the remote - Turn off and on again - Press Home and 8520 to confirm DVD hack for all regions Note that with DVD(0) as above Region 1 RCE discs will not play. However, the BDP8000/78 can play these discs if the user press 1389311 to turn it to a Region 1 DVD player only. Since there are no indications thus far if the user can modd the player unlimited times he ot she will be better off by leaving the player as DVD(0). | |||
