Repair
a .mpg
(so you can burn it as a compliant VCD)
Check that the
mpg is in VCD-format. Use MPEGProperties.
Or Use VirtualDUB,
open the .mpg and select File -> File information. If the MPG
is in VCD-format follow these steps and if it isn't jump to the
last step.
- Check if
the .mpg is a renamed .dat by renaming the .mpg to .dat and try
to convert it. If it fails it is a
.mpg (only if you have downloaded from somewhere).
- Try to demultiplex the mpg and
then multiplex it back to a mpg
in compliant VCD-Format (make sure you select VideoCD when multiplexing).
- Always try different burningprograms
to burn the .mpg with. If one doesn't work, try another one.
- Try to fix the .mpg with MPEG-Corrector.
Just open your mpg and it's make a new working(maybe :) one.
- Try to fix the .mpg with M1-Edit
feature REPACKETIZE to make a working VCD.
- Try
to fix the .mpg with iFilmEdit 1.4.5+, just
insert the mpg file and hit record then make. Read more at Edit
a mpg with iFilmEdit.
- If nothing of the above works and you really want the .mpg to
be a compliant VCD you have to use Panasonic MPEG Encoder/TMPGEnc
and reencode your movie into compliant VCD-format.
Just open your .mpg file and select VCD format(PAL or NTSC) and
hit encode. It will probably take many many hours...
