How to Rip the Timing and English Subs From an AVI File Using AviSubDetector

This guide is to show you how to rip the timing and English subs from an AVI file using AviSubDetector. This guide will not let you rip the timing and subs 100%. I think my method will let you get 90% accuracy. After that, you will have to do some manual work to fill in the missing blanks. This manual work will probably take you about 12hours. Considering the program probably takes anywhere between 15 minutes to 30 minutes to do an episode and can do batch work, this should still save any fan sub group a tremendous amount of time. In the old days, when I did timing manually, it took me like 5-8 hours to do 1 episode. Now with a program such as this, it takes me like2 hours max to do the timing for an episode. This need not be said but I am going to say it anyway. This program and guide will not help you if there are no hard coded subs on the AVI you are using. Accuracy might get lower if the subs are located on the actual movie as opposed to the black portion of the movie if the movie is in widescreen mode.

Blu-ray Disc standalone results/tests on DVDR of AVCHD, BD, FULLBD, CROPPED, HDAUDIO

THE TEST 1. For AVCHD, NEWBD, OLDBD, C1080, C720, DTSHD, THD you can download test samples from sendspace / mediafire (23MB) and burn the isos with imgburn. If burning to DVD+R make sure booktype is set to DVD-R. In order for FULLBD testing you need to process an original BD with BD-Rebuilder 2 Try playing avchd.iso, newbd.iso, oldbd.iso, avchd_aux.iso, avchd_strict.iso (results try to be as accurate as can be but aren't guaranteed) 3. If avchd.iso plays test avchd-crop720.iso, avchd-crop1080.iso, avchd-dtshd.iso, avchd-truehd.iso If avchd.iso doesn't play but newbd.iso plays test newbd-crop720.iso, newbd-crop1080.iso, newbd-dtshd.iso, newbd-truehd.iso 4. When testing FULLBD if it doesn't play with default output run the index.bdmv through goBD and try again. 4. Report what plays and what doesn't. In order for the the crop iso's to be considered playable they have to show a round circle centered on the screen and and no video artifacts. For FULLBD please report if there is any thing in BDMV/JAR directory. Thanks in advance. H.264 video only

How to Decrypt/store/play Blu-Ray and HD-DVD Discs

This guide will describe an extremely basic method of decrypting an HD-DVD or Blu-Ray disc, excluding all "unnecessary" audio tracks, creating an image (.iso) of your movie, and finally, playing it back. Please note that there are definitely multiple ways to do this and multiple programs that can be used. In addition, there are many many more steps that can be included for various processing needs, this guide is meant to cover just the absolute basics and hopefully help out those who are just starting out. This guide is broken up into2sections: the first is related to HD-DVD's and the second for Blu-Rays. UPDATE: TSMuxer now has the ability to open the "main movie" playist file (.mpls file) directly and mux all relevant movie tracks automatically.

Using DGIndex

DGIndex is one of the most versatile and important tools available to digital video enthusiasts. As a standalone program it can give detailed information about MPEG-1 and MPEG-1 files, as well as demuxing and sometimes repairing them. As a preparation and analysis tool used in conjunction with AviSynth or other tools it's invaluable for working with MPEG2sources.

This guide offers2methods for how to assign default audio and default subpicture (subtitle) streams for 'movie only' backups. The first uses DVD Shrink (in NO compression mode) so that you can then use your usual DVD backup software to compress the DVD. The second uses IFOEdit to modify an .IFO file to make the changes manually.

Basic Guide How to Convert AVI Files to DVD with Avi2DVD

vi2DVD is a GUI that uses freeware tools and various freeware encoders (QuEnc/FreeEnc/NuEnc) or CCE to perform conversions such as AVI, OGM, MKV, and WMV to DVD, SVCD, or VCD. It can also be used to convert DVD to SVCD or VCD. One of nice features I like about this program is automatically convert audio files to AC3 format. The current version, Avi2DVD 0.42beta, is still in beta phase so it's still buggy though. After installing Avi2DVD, some of my programs such as VirtualDubMod 1.5.102or DGIndex became extremely slow and sluggish and returned to normal as soon as I uninstalled it. It seemed to be some kind of codec conflict that’s caused the problem. Hopefully, the future updates will improve this handy program. In this basic guide, I will show how to convert .avi file to DVD only

How to put two full DVDs to one DVD preserving original menus

Starting with ver26 DvdReMake Pro can be used to merge2full dvds. This means FULL - keeping original menus, languages, everything. It is a "one click" procedure that can be done without any knowledge of the DVD structure. When played merged disk will show a start up menu asking what disk you would like to go to. After that selected disk will play as if it is the only one on the DVD. At any time during playback pushing "title menu" on the remote will take you to this start up menu.

How to insert chapter into DVD movie keeping menus

There are quite many cases when you want to have more chapters on the disk than it was in the original DVD. Say, chapters were inserted automatically by dvd recorder at some weird places or DVD was authored in a way that there is a huge chapter and you would like to be able to use your remote to go to some particular scene inside this chapter. Until recently it was a task close to impossible, as it required a very good knowledge of DVD structure and how DVD navigation works. And even then you would have to spend hours editing your disk. Starting with DvdReMake Pro25.1 it is possible to insert programs to a pgc and chapters to titles. Together with implemented earlier "split cell" this allows DRM Pro user to insert a chapter point into movie with just few mouse clicks.

Using a frameserver between Premiere and TMPGEnc

Although most people recognise TMPGEnc's excellent encoding quality, and many are willing to put up with its long encoding times, it's sometimes not possible (and rarely if ever practical) to export your entire project to an AVI file and then load that file into TMPGEnc. Ideally TMPGEnc should be able to work as a plug-in to video editing programs, allowing the editor to export directly to MPEG2from the timeline. Unfortunately this is not possible, but there is a process that's close enough (as long as you're editing in Adobe Premiere version 5 or above): frame serving.
