| I've had my Mitsumi burner for about a month and the Media(Maxwell DVD-R) I bought with it didn't work. Should of been more viigilant and looked at the back of the box... | I've bought this great burner in Germany for 139,- € and this was the right thing. I've big problems mit Platinum and Verbatim DataLifePlus DVD+RW's With Primeon DVD+RW i've no problems, it works great In the case of DVD+R i haven't expected any problems. | Hello DVD-burners, This drive is just OK, there absolutely nothing wrong with it. I got it for 140 EURO (in holland) at www.gistron.com Using it I found out that MMORE dvd's and Verbatim are just fine. Burned them without one failure. Using Nero burning rom 5.5.10.20. | I bought this drive for one reason - the price... It only cost me $229.99 Canadian! All other drives were around $400. I figured that even if the DVD writer was horrible I was still getting a DVD reader and decent CD burner (compared to my 2x that I never bother to upgrade) As it turns out the DVD writer works great! I've only have it for three weeks now but I haven't had any problems. Like what was previously said the bundled software isn't anything special but I'm not going to complain about free DVD writing software... Great buy! | I've been using the Mitsumi for about a month. Burned 50 or so DVDs with only a couple of coasters which were probably my fault. I've had good results with Verbatim and Fuji DVD+Rs. Only problem I've had is I can't get our Mintek 5830 to play anything from this drive - don't know if it's the media or burner. The disks play in every other DVD set top player I've tried. | I've been using this drive for about 3 weeks. Only CD-ROM, DVD+RW and DVD+R media have been used, recording only to DVD so far. Speed is acceptable and has met my expectations. Verbatim DVD+RW (DataLifePlus) has worked without fail. Memorex DVD+RW media is spotty, I'm still doing some tests to see if I can get it to write consistently. Fujifilm DVD+R works as well. The bundled SW wasn't really a big benefit. They include InterVideo's WinDVD Creator (the encoder is horrible and you won't use it for long), Nero Burning, and InterVideo's DVD player. But I bought it for the low price more than anything else so the SW bundle isn't a big deal. I'm using DVD Complete with great success with this drive. I'd recommend both the program and the drive.
