| I bought the model through Sam's club in July 2005. I returned the model to Pacific Digital in April 2006, having used Verbatim DVD+R and DVD+R DL Media exclusively in the machine. The model I was shipped was a Toshiba SD-R5372. The recorder was very reliable at burning DVD+R and DVD+RW, as well as CD-R media. When recording DVD+R DL, it was hit an miss. Out of a 30 pack of blanks, I usually made 8-9 without error. With the price of media still high, this was unacceptable. | This drive appears to be compatible with all media. That is until you try to read the disc. I have tried several brands of media including (Sonic, Fujitsu, Verbatum, and Ritek) I have burned 100 DVD-r's with this drive and can only read them in two of my players (Panasonic and a Cyberhome 300) Cyberhome 320, Sony Playstation, and the KLH will not play them. | Ok, More info. I have the U30265-RV2 Drive. It's really a Benq drive. I have found that making back up dvd's, only the +R media has worked well. I've tried really high quality -R media and it has not worked at all on any dvd player other than the computer. Other than that, it has worked very well. | Still learning about this drive but so far it burns well with Philips +R media. I played the disk in 4 different DVD players and they all worked. The Sony 8x -R did not work nearly as well.
