Reads and writes to KHypermedia and Imation DVD+Rs well. Can read and write to Memorex 4x DVD+RWs ONLY if it did the burning. If a NEC drive burns a Memorex 4x DVD+RW, it cannot be read. It does NOT read or write to Fuji DVD+RWs. Comments posted by S from United States, July 25, 2006. Rated this writer 7 of 10. |

I got mine for $16 after rebate and so far it works great!I've already gotten an email saying that my rebate is approved also! Comments posted by Jeff from United States, August 04, 2005. Rated this writer No rating. |

As other users have, I purchased this soley because of a rebate deal. After having used it VERY heavily for 4 months, it is apparant this DVD writer is not for those like me. The DVR Y08 is perfect for those requiring on a few dvd burns and normal CD burn usage. I have noticed high error rates and equally as high failure rates on the data. I've seen better quality from store-branded dvd burners before. Score of 6 because its perfect for light to moderate users, but worrisome for anyone require reliability and moderate+ users. Ditto to the post above. The drive works flawlessly with no problems. Great deal for only $14 after MIR from eCost.com. Comments posted by defiantroa from United States, October 19, 2004. Rated this writer 10 of 10. |

This appears to be an OEM rebadge of the Pioneer DVR-A07. I purchased this from eCOST.com in October 2004 for $79 before a $65 mail-in rebate. The retail package came with two extra faceplates (silver, and black), Nero OEM Suite (Express versions of Nero 6), and the normal IDE cable and mounting screws.
