Although this is older slower hardware, if you want dead nuts reliable DVD RAM writing, this is the unit to get. I have a few of these units and I'm always looking for more to keep on hand and use in other PCs. The best feature about this drive is that it does accept cartridge DVD RAM which provides the best protection against dust and scratches. The only downfall is that it is slower than newer drives, but the faster you write DVD RAM media the less re-writes you get with it. Comments posted by JamesGT from United States, March 08, 2008. Older DVD-RAM drive that only works @ 1x. It is very usefull for transfering movies form a Panasonic DVD recorder or from the 60 min 2.8GB double sided DVD RAM disk for video cameras Comments posted by ofbarea from Costa Rica, November 08, 2005. Rated this writer 8 of 10. |

Works well. Writes to DVD-RAM 2.6/5.2gb and 4.7/9.4gb in cartridges. Doesn't write at 2x. Takes 1 hour to write 4.20gb to a 4.7gb disc and 60 minutes to write 2.3gb to a 2.6gb disc. Comments posted by David Robbins from Other, April 06, 2003. Rated this writer 9 of 10. |
