Have burned hundreds of DVDs with 0 coasters other than some due to bad media. Ritek -R quality has plummeted and I'll never buy them again. Taiyo Yuden -Rs are superb. This burns at between 6x and 8x on 16x rated discs because the drive automatically calibrates and adjusts to the best burn speed for the specific media being used. Got it OEM from Newegg for under $25 with free shipping and bought a second as a spare. Same drive sells at Walmart for just under $50 plus tax. This burner is great. It burned my Memorex 8X DVD+R DL that my brother's LG burner butchered. Burned 2 discs so far and both work great on both my stand-alone player and Sony PS2. Quite pleased with it. Comments posted by daemons from Canada, March 29, 2008. Rated this writer 10 of 10. |

Just recieved this burner. Got it from newegg. It got it OEM just the drive nothing else. So far great results. Nero quality score of 95% with max 2 PI failures(2 PI failures happened twice on the quality check, besides that 1pi failure or 0 for most of the disk). Used verbatim media. Burned at 8x test done at 8x. So far so good. The results on my first test are better then i was getting from my older drive i was using (a sony). The sony burner died after about 600 dvdr burns. As long as this one doesnt die on me it is great marks so far. Comments posted by barakandl from United States, January 18, 2008. Rated this writer 9 of 10. |
