Actualy i Got a DV-W58G-A drive and I've had some trouble with this writter when it was a litle dusty. I own it for 16 month now and after i've opened it and cleaned it it works like new. Writes any kind of disks even RAXON (known for being very cheap - about 30 cent/each) at speed of 4-8x. In this 16 month i've only screwed up about 20 DVD's and wit the old firmware i wasn't able to burt Verbatim 16X dvd's at any other speed but 2.4x. The burner does not recognise those. Btw.. i wrote about 400 dvd's and over 100 cd's with it. I love it & i will keep it as long as it works. Comments posted by Dorian from Romania, September 30, 2005. Rated this writer 9 of 10. |

I have a trouble with "lead-out" errors! I upgrade the firmware to H4S3 and problem continues. I read few comments with the same trouble. I think this writer is not so good. I believe that next firmware corrects the problem. Comments posted by Radek from Czech Republic, May 29, 2004. Rated this writer 2 of 10. |

Silent and hasn't let me down yet. Burns cd-r's at 40x and dvd-r's at 4x-8x. DVD-R discs that I have used are Datawrite 4x and DVD+RW 4x from Memorex. I still haven't try the 8x speed with DVD+R discs. Also it was very cheap 145€ when I got it. Recommended ;-) Comments posted by AJ from Finland, February 05, 2004. Rated this writer 9 of 10. |
