| Olá Jorge. Como não tenho o teu contacto escrevo aqui na esperança que leias. Tb tenho o Toshiba Sdr 6112 e conseguia gravar dvd a 2x até que actualizei o Xp com o Service Pack 2. Não sei se foi coincidência ou não mas agora já tentei com uma data de marcas de dvd's (Ridisc g05, Tdk, etc) e só consigo gravar a 1x apesar do Nero dizer que está a gravar a 2x. Tenho o firmware 1031 de fábrica. Vi o teu post a dizer que conseguiste voltar a gravar a 2x com o firmware "crackado" mas não percebi a parte em que falas num tal h2h.exe para abrir o ficheiro .hex Será que podes dizer onde encontro isso ou como se faz? | For users of this drive: (Forgive my english)I have it for about 2 years on my laptot acer tm. Sudently, about 3 months ago, became very slow, buning at only 1x, and very freezing watching video on my dvd player yhamada (I have also another 2 players: LG DS8400 with de same freezeng video and a SEG Las vegas witch play everithing ok). The media i use is ridisk 4x(by ritekg04), datawrite grey (by fuji), and platinum 8x (ritekgo5). So i take a look in the net and found a crack by a program named H2H. Now it is OK for burning, but only at 2x. This is what i found: Version 2.1 ----------- Now supports Toshiba SD-R6112 hex file. for Toshiba SDR-6112 only ------------------------- 1) You need to download your firmware Zip file file from http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1603 2) Unzip this file you get *.hex file and some more files for DOS flashing 3) Use H2H.exe to patch your *.hex file 4) Reboot to DOS and run update.bat After that you will get Region free (rpc1) and 2x burning for almost all DVD-R medials in your Toshiba SD-R6112. for Toshiba SDR-5112 only ------------------------- Supports Windows SD-R5112-1033.exe firmware flashing (both RevA/revB). You don't need rebooting to DOS 1) You need to download f/w 1033 Zip file (SD-R5112-1033.zip) from http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1633 2) Unzip this file you get SD-R5112-1033.exe 3) Use H2H.exe to patch SD-R5112-1033.exe 4) Run SD-R5112-1033.exe After that you will get Region free (rpc1) and 4x burning for almost all DVD-R medials in your Toshiba SD-R5112. Please note that this method is good for both RevA and RevB type of the drive. Please note that you will get X433 firmware number. You can easy return to native 1033 if you will use H2H and press buttons [More Options], [Load file], [Remove] twice, [Save file]. Advantages: 1) It supports Region free(rpc1) patch by hijacker and 4x burning speed patch by me. Firmware version with two patches will be X433 2) It can patch Windows based SD-R5112-1033.exe file. It was really hard to do. From now you do not need to boot DOS to update your drive with Region free patch. 3) It can extract both RevA(kn*.*) and RevB(kp*.*) HEX file from 1033.exe 4) If you will use patched 1033.exe then you can update X031(X033) firmware to 1033(X033,X433) firmware. | This drive came in my Medion laptop which has a 2.4GHZ,512 Ram,64MB VideoCard in it. I have used 4 different Brands of DVD-Rs and have only been able to burn at 1x, which takes almost an hour, despite it being a 2x DVD-R burner. This is very frustrating! I have used the same Media in my desktop PC and they burn just fine at their rated speed. One of the reasons that I purchased this laptop is because of the 2x DVD-R burner, and I haven't as yet got it to burn at that speed -- I've even contacted Medion about the problem with no resolution so far. Maybe this drive is very picky about the Media it uses, like someone else said. I've had about 5 burn failures, also. I use DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink and Nero v6.6.0.3 to burn with. | dvd writer on acer travelmate 190 series i could burn at 2x only 1 time out of 100's on very expensive media. nero says it burns at 2x but it takes twice the time to burn dvds. burn reliability is very poor, i had to dump a lot of my dvds because of random data verification failure. now using external lite-on sohw-1653s without any problems with same media Comments posted by reaper from Switzerland, January 05, 2005. | Used it twice with very good results. System HP Pavilion Notebook 1.06GHz CPU speed HD (Upgraded) 60GB Ext HD 120 GB 512MB RAM Win XP Home Edition Dazzle 150B Burns with Record Now & Pinnacle Studio 8 So far I have imation DVD-R, Sony DVD-RW, Memorex 6HR DVD-R I have been using the Memorex to burn family videos taken back in the 80 and early 90's. Each video is about 3 hours long. The SD-R6112 records at 37% quality, but it is surpising clear. On newer videos (DV, JPG's, and MPEG) at 100% quality or SP it's picture perfect. We have been viewing it on a RCA stand alone DVD player. Rendering with Studio 8 takes most of the day 4-20 hrs depending on length. Compiling at 9 GB takes 50min. and burns the DVD in about 30 min. at 2X. I compiled a 36 min video of ultra sounds and JPGs in 5 min and burned at 2x speed in about 15 min. Aside from only able to burn DVDs at 2X it has been very reliable. It may have had a problem burning PCM audio, but I'm looking into that. Had no problem with MPEG audio/ videos. Well worth the $140. | System: Gateway M350X notebook Software: Nero 6.3.0.3 Medium: Memorex DVD-RW, v1.1 This disc wouldn't burn in my Pioneer A-04 for some reason, but I hung onto it because I didn't want to throw it away. I just bought my Gateway notebook and tried the disc in it. It erased and burned fine, but it took an extremely long time. Burnprocess was done at 1x, which I'd guess is because it's a RW disc. It took a while for it to write the lead-in (two minutes, maybe), and only a minute or two to burn thirty-plus megabytes of data. The lead-out, however, took forever. It could be the software, the drive, or the disc. I don't know, but the process of burning about 33 Mb onto the DVD-RW took 14 minutes, 40 seconds.
