| Can anybody tell me who the OEM for this drive is? I know the plain 4x4 version is pioneer, and there is an 8x8 version coming that is likely a a07 pioneer, but pioneer doesn't list any 8x4 drives on their site. also can someone confirm if Compusa/princo media works or not? | Bought 2 of these drives the week they were released, bought another a week later and made it an external, have not had any problems yet. Verbatim (silver tops w/silver writing) and Memorex (both Ricoh) burn at 8x. I have burned about 300-500 dvds, I have to rate it a 10 since I have not had a problem, only coasters were either my fault or pc problem. Comments posted by joe synistr from Other, January 04, 2004. | I bought this drive a couple of weeks and have not had any problems with it yet. I've burned about 20 DVDs already w/o any coasters. The only problem/concern I have so far is that I haven't found any media yet that will burn at the advertised 8x speed. The best I can get is 4x ... any suggestions? | Need some help with this dvd-writer. I buy 3 weeks ago i am using CompUsa Dvd-R to make backup of my dvd movies when i play it in my stand alone dvd player panasonic rv31 get bad results. When the movie start its al well but after the movie advance to 3/4 start to get pixelations and frozen image. I take the disk to the drv-writer in the pc and play it and also there have frozen image problem. I take one of my blank dvd disk to a friend that have a lg dvd-writer and my movie and he make a backup for me. that plays fine in my stand alone player and even in my pc-dvd writer.
