Not recognised by some ripper/clone programs. Shrink & DVD Decrypter work fine. Using Novatech NOV-DVDRP2 DVD Blanks, getting very good results on Games & Movie backups. Burning with Nero 6. at * 2 & *4 burn speeds. Do a speed test/simulation first!. Currently trying Novatech NOV-DVD825 [ rated *8], at *4 burn speed. Good drive - I bought from Maplin for £80 including postage. However it needs a firmware upgrade (available from the BT Europe website) to correctly support all (more) media types. It is the same drive at the BTC 1004 model. Upgrading the firmware on mine allowed it to recognise media code ----001 and therefore 'QP' brand discs recorded at 4x correctly and played in both my DVD players - before that there were problems. Paid a bargin £80 from Amazon for this drive. I've burned digital movies from a Panasonic digital camera using Ulead Movie Factory. Just got to get DVDXCopy Express working so I can backup some movies. Burns Bulkpaq orange disks well which are pretty cheap from ebuyer.com Comments posted by Simon from Other, December 15, 2003.
