I don't want to rate it yet, because the jury is still out. I burned successfully using the software which came with my laptop. At switched to NEro 6 because a saleman talked me into it because it was faster and had more functionality. Does anyone know what settings Nero should be in for this to work. I tried capturing in DV, and I could not capture video. I can capture video in MPEG-2, but cannot write it to disk. I'm using Memorex disks which I've used successfully in the past. Thanks. Folks, my UJ-811 drive has been functioning perfectly well for a year now, burning reliably on 4x disks with greatest compatibility of burned DVD on stand-alone players. Don't quite understand what other users are complaining about! My drive is in an ACER TravelMate 252LMi_DT notebook computer. Only irks me that neither AnyDVD or any other software can put the drive region-free... Does anybody know out there how this can be done? THANKS! This Mat(su)shita UJ-811 in Toshiba P25-S609 notebook. I would not recommend this DVD drive to anyone. It is my third one, they last about 4-5 months. The other two were replaced under warranty. Now my warranty has expired Im sure that the drive will die again soon, it has been about 3 months since last replacement. Will only write reliably at 1x. Will not write on any 8x media. There are no firmware updates available for this drive in a Toshiba. In short stay away. Comments posted by Freeflyfreak from United States, December 20, 2004. Rated this writer 1 of 10. |

Here in P25-S509, sometimes it works , sometimes not. It likes Imation, TDK, but have lot of problems with 4x media, i lost several 4x medias, with several softwares, like Nero, Alcohol, CloneDvd. And Toshiba doesn't support firmware upgrades for dvd drives. Comments posted by Ghungha from Brazil, May 12, 2004. Rated this writer No rating. |
