Just got this drive, installed with no problems, and burned a 3.8 gig DVD image (using the included Nero 5) on TDK 4x -r in about 13 min's. Not sure if that's good as this is my first DVD burner, but it was acceptable to me. I'm happy and the price $140 was great! Comments posted by Curt Godsey from Other, November 01, 2003. Had a play with the drive, seems excellent so far as long as the media used is good. Using Datawrite Red (v2) disks here with no probs. FiRez Comments posted by Firez UK from Other, October 29, 2003. Rated this writer 9 of 10. |

Owned one for seven days here in the UK, no problems so far. Its a SANYO OEM drive aka MSI DRA4 aka Optorite DD201/3. Works well with any burning software. Media Info: Cheapo -R's are a waste of time with this drive Cheapo +R's are fair to good, they work on most pcs and set-tops Quality +R's provide the best solution, work on anything. **As long as you work to the list of recommended media you cant go wrong** Software bundle is acceptable (NERO 5, MyDVD 4 and Powerdvd 4) Burning cd's at 24x is also a great bonus too but the monster 8 meg cache makes it stand out. Most purists would recommend a Sony or a Pioneer, but with a drive this good you needn't worry. Sanyo make good solid products and this is one of them. Thanks.
