| I must say this is a great burner. I have about a 99% success rate using a varity of media ie, -R +R -RW even tried some -RDL and no problems. I have burned hundreds of dvds with this and still runs top notch, I only burn at 4x on dvds, as some say this gives you consistent success. | Had this drive for 1 day. Wrote an 8x Verbatium DVD -R at 8x and it seems to run fine. I used media ID MCC for the Verbatium. One of the best rated DVD disks. I have wrote this same disk on different media in the past using Liteon Drives and it fails during playback, pixalated. The key to success is a high quality media don't let anyone tell you different. So many brands fail outright. By the way the Blank dvd that came with my liteon is on the don't buy list go figure. So far The AOPEN (BUSLINK) has performed well on my first burn. After reading the past reviews Im a little worried, I'm not a big fan of AOPEN who makes the drive for BUSLINK. It stinks when they don't tell you that on the box until the product arrives. I would not have purchased it. Since its too cheap to return even if it fails me I'm stuck with it. I'm going to burn everything I can find to see if it fails, only time will tell. | My drive will not create a DVD+R disk that is readable in a DVD player. I have looked online for help at their website and the only manuals available are in Chinese, Japanese, French, Spanish, German, but not English! | RMA under way after 1 week. Customer support was ok through the Aopen site after filing a complaint. Emails through the complaint department were answered quickly and the problem was diagnosed (as a bad drive) after a few emails. This drive and its older counterpart (duw 1608) look like complete lemons. I am considering just throwing it away instead of rma. Comments posted by Jon Coyer from Vietnam, August 21, 2005.
