So far it's superb! Hoping that I wont be eating my words in the days ahead, but just a fabulous piece of kit from Sony. Reliable, fast and burns reliable and readable DVD-R, DVD+R and CDs. Excellent to use, with fast USB2 and firewire interfaces and a lovely small footprint on the desktop. It looks 100% as well. The bundled version of Nero 6 is feature rich BUT it only works with the writer it ships with. Comments posted by diver15 from United Kingdom, September 06, 2005. Rated this writer 9 of 10. |

Whoa! I've read bad feedback re. media writer that are badged Sony and I beg to differ on this one (keeping my fingers crossed for now). Just follow the simple installation instructions and it'll be up and running in about 15 mins. Being an external burner with both USB and iLink/Firewire connection this is quite ideal for a notebook user as myself. As a detached component it doesn't contribute to the heat generated and contained in my PC. It runs quiet even burning @ 8x speed (as of this writing I haven't found a faster rated DVD media than this locally). It also yielded a favorable result in my attempt to burn a back up of a DVD-video (regular movie) authored using DVD Shrink (A-OK!). This is all for now folks. You'll certainly hear/read more when I discover more 'stuff' to report about it. Comments posted by mbad from Canada, June 04, 2005. Rated this writer 8 of 10. |
