I have lost my cd with the drivers on it. Does anyone know a link where I can find these? Any help would be appreciated. Comments posted by derek464 from United States, September 16, 2008. Rated this writer 8 of 10. |

Worked great using Verbatim 8X+R or 8X-R discs. Now it will not recognize any kind of DVD media - just clicks. Any ideas? Comments posted by jari from United States, October 22, 2005. Rated this writer No rating. |

Only coaster it made was my fault for not making the DVD drive Sec-Master. AFter that 100% great on Fuji DVD-R/RW. Awsome drive. Comments posted by Nice-Handler from United States, June 11, 2004. Rated this writer 10 of 10. |

Made a coaster out of the TDK DVD-R disk that came with it after writing an ISO created by DVDShrink at 4x speed. Inconsistant buring successes with FUJIFILM DVD-RW at 2x and 1x ( So far 2 out of 4 ). I just can't trust it with DVD-R since I fear it will make more coasters. Note: All my burning experiments have been with ISO images created by DVDShrink. The errors I keep getting are "Communication Failure" followed by program aborting and I used Roxio Software supplied with the burner as well as NERO Burning ROM 6. Oh well... at least it works sometimes. Comments posted by Carlos A from United States, June 06, 2004. Rated this writer 5 of 10. |

great drive! i can even burn "4x" media at 6 or 8x sometimes. the only complaint i have is that the drive has a really hard time reading past smudges and very minor scratches on a dvd disk (retail or already burned). rue the day i try and backup a really scratched disk... overall really awesome drvie though! great read and burn speeds, very capable, very reliable! I have the external model. Works flawlwessly with Ritek G04 DVD-R media. Only one coaster out of 50 and that was due to power outage. Can even change the settings on DVDShrink to burn 10MB more on the discs without problems. Comments posted by GreenXero from United States, April 15, 2004. Rated this writer 10 of 10. |

I have the 440N and work great so when I saw the 880N I knew I would have to pick it up...work great it was nice buring over 4 gig of data on to a dvd in 8 mins. It was nice burning that fast. I got it from Best buy for $189.00 with tax with a $30.00 rebate. Comments posted by Nelson from United States, April 13, 2004. Rated this writer 10 of 10. |

Bought this drive a couple of months ago. The only coasters I burned were my fault by not being familiar with the roxio software supplied. Put in a AUDIO_TS folder along with a VIDEO_TS with the movie files and have had no problems. I guess I just got too used to nero doing it for me. So far I've only used fuji film +r or +rw and have had no problems. Comments posted by dcrog from United States, April 11, 2004. Rated this writer 10 of 10. |

Got this writer off eBay for about $200. I rip my DVDs with DVDShrink and burn the folders with Roxio Easy DVD Creator 6.1, this has been my first DVD burner and it has been a joy to own! I've made over 150 DVD backups and data DVDs. I've had VERY GOOD results with this unit paried with the Roxio software, even though others have said that Roxio sucks. Here's the experience that I've had with different brands of media: TDK 4X DVD+R: 100 pack all burned successfully, NO COASTERS MEMOREX 4X DVD+R: Absolute S**T! Discs wouldn't spin up at all! Avoid like plague. Fuji 4X DVD+R: Great, halfway through a 100 disc set with only 1 coaster, which might have been my fault. I just ordered some RiData 4X DVD-R discs from Ritek. They are supposed to be good at a low price, I haven't burned any (minus)-R discs yet, so we'll see how they work. Comments posted by StrikeFire83 from United States, April 05, 2004. Hey! I'm a Mac user and I've just installed this good dvd writer onto my mac, in opposition to what the tdk support live chat said:"You cannot connect this dvd writer internally, but you have to purchase the external model". In the box of this burner mac compatibility is not mentioned, but is easy to discover that the best application for burning dvds in Mac planet is Roxio Toast, and it supports all the writers following MMC standards. Casually, this new TDK writer, follows perfectly those standars, like a very large part of new writers for PC, but none of them tells anything about the compatibility with Mac. So, if you are a Mac user, and you don't want to spend lots of money for a writer, check if the writer sold in the computer shop near at you follows MMC standard! Hope this helps.... I have a weird problem when using dvd utilities such as DVD Decryptor. I only rips dvd's at 2-3x speed. I contacted tech support and they said it was done by design. DVD throttles down when it detects copyright DVD movie. I am not sure if I like it. Comments posted by sebeknet from United States, March 11, 2004. Rated this writer 5 of 10. |

Bought it twoo weeks ago. No problem at all. Very happy with it. The only "negative" comment would be a strange "click" when I turn off the PC. Comments posted by Paul from United States, March 05, 2004. Rated this writer 9 of 10. |

The TDK 880N so far has proven to be reliable with Memorex 4X DVD+r...going to try a cheaper media next, the notorious Meritline Digital Matrix 4X DVD-R's...Stop back for results! Hope they are good or meritline get get somethin' stuck in the low hole.... Comments posted by MussInc from United States, February 23, 2004. Rated this writer 10 of 10. |
