Burned Ridata DVD+R DL disk. Burn was successful at 2.4x speed. Reliable burner. Also burned taiyo disk with no Coasters. Comments posted by John from United States, June 18, 2005. Rated this writer 10 of 10. |

I have one of these writers and had a mechanical failure after about 5 months approx. 100 hours. But I still HIGHLY recommend Plextor for their support and replacement if the unit is still in warranty. You call, supplyy the serial number and Mfg Date, send it in, and they ship a no hassle replacement. The failure on this one was a fluke. I've always experienced excellent Plextor drives. All of the websites I've seen, including the manufacturer's website, state that the dual layer writing only applies to +R media, not -R media. The description above is incorrect. Comments posted by stefanie from United States, February 15, 2005. Rated this writer No rating. |

Had this burner for a week now and it has produce flawless burns. So Far using Maxell 8x dvd-r and Verbatim 8x Dvd-r and My previous burner Sony DW-18A starting to crap out on me after 2 months of use. The Sony was giving me skips and stutters when movies played on my New Samsung HD-941 player. With Plextor, not a single skip and stutter with the this player. Plextor is a great product! Highly recommended!! Comments posted by john from United States, January 09, 2005. Rated this writer 10 of 10. |

Bought this yesterday. Installation was a breeze. there is updated firmware and Plextools software that I haven't installed and probably won't for a while. Installed on a Compaq Presario R3360US notebook with a 3.0 ghs processor. I've burned approximatey 30 Taio Yuden -R's without a hitch. I also have a Sony DRU-500AX which works OK but the Plextor PX-716UF is by far superior. Comments posted by ted york from United States, December 31, 2004. Rated this writer 10 of 10. |
