Technical support says that it really is == nec1300A, but firmwares must have to be from mitsumi and there is no updates available yet. They does not know media incompabilities right now :~D. I have not tested drive very much, but Thats Write 4Xdvd-r (LEADDATA01) does not work. sony dvd-rw and tdk+r worked wery well. Hope mitsumi produces firmware update in near future, without update i quess it have same issues that nec haves with very oldest firmware. Only reason i selected this drive was price. 189€ without software from Finland. Comments posted by mae from Other, September 09, 2003. Rated this writer 7 of 10. |

An OK drive I guess (supposed to be same as NEC ND1300A), but the firmware that came with it (no updates available yet) is c-r-a-p. The drive refuses to burn most of the cheap media (Princo, Nanya, etc...) RitekG04 seems to work. All the expensive brands (TDK, Verbatim, Maxell, etc...) seem to work fine too. A friend of mine has a ND1300A with some firmware upgrades and it burns almost anything just fine. It's fucking annoying to wait for a firmware upgrade (that might never come?) when you know that the drive could work with almost anything with the proper firmware. If I had known all this, I'd have spent few extra €s and bought the NEC instead. Comments posted by elpuri from Other, September 04, 2003. Rated this writer 7 of 10. |

Bought my Mitsumi in August 2003 for 189 euros (approx $207) It has worked like a charm! No firmware updates have been required. I've tried two different media, both worked without any problems. Thankyou, Mitsumi! Comments posted by tarantula from Other, September 01, 2003. Rated this writer 10 of 10. |
