It burns solidly at 2x using the SD-R5002 even when leaving as little as 100-300mb/s free space. In as far as the Apex not liking the disks, well, the Apex seems not to like 95% of the disks I feed it. Even retail DVDs will fail in that unit which is the reason I will not hold that against the media.

Burns so so had two bad burns (one on each) on two burns I try so far. On the ones that burn ok, the movie would be mess up around 45 - 50 minute area. Guess I will use it as backup instead of video

these media are the worst pieces of crap ever.. i bought a 50 spindle from yesbuy.net or top of the fact they gave me the runaround about shipping the media out (took 2.5 weeks) the media burn great at 2x but they dont work in ANY dvd player/rom.. i tried 15 different dvd players/rom and none worked.. they all did the thing where the laser hits the end of its track and keeps hitting because it thinks there is more media.. only after leaving the media in the only player that it sort-of worked in (the PS2) for about 20 minutes it loaded the title menu of the dvd but wouldnt play the movie.. you could navigate around the main menu though.. Too many dvd players it didn't work on i cant remember all thier model numbers... Worst ever.. Id stay away from them if you know whats good for you..
