I have yet to find better media. I've always trusted Taiyo Yuden media, and these are no exception. Burns up to 8x with no problems. I have the lowest PI/PO scans of any media I've used. Very consistent quality. It's nice prices are coming down. So far I've trusted these and RicohJPN-R01-02, for reliability.

Price: $0.8 Purchased from: www.newegg.com Date purchased: July 2004 Burnt with NEC ND-2500A at 8x using firmware 107v2b4. Burning reliability is Good. PC reliability is Good. DVD reliability is Good. Media color is Blue. Media text is YUDEN000T01. Media package type is Cake Box. Number of discs 50. Authoring/Burning comments: These are Taiyo Yuden's. (media code YUDEN000T01). Perfect 8x burns with my NEC 2500a (firmware herries 107v2b4). Noticed that burns do not produce the speed rings visible on media (step-up from 4x > 6x > 8X) that I get with my other media (which is only MCC or Ricoh Japan burnt at 8x). KProbe scans are excellent. Works fine on Toshiba SD2900 |

They have not caused a problem with me. They burn all the way and play in every dvd player I have tried. Truly the best Taiyo Yuden ! Dont go for the name, go for the media code! You can always check'em out at newegg for the good deals. As for me burning 4x only, thats only because my burner is 4x..They should burn to 8x flawlessly since they are Taiyo Yuden !! 1st class media..

These are revision 00 Taiyo Yuden discs, but I am lucky that my burner is one of the few that supports writing it at 8X.
Overall very good media for the price.
